As the new instructional facilitator at Guernsey Sunrise schools, I am excited for the adventure that lies ahead! I am a Casper native and taught high school mathematics and concurrent enrollment courses at Wheatland High School for the past 8 years. My educational background includes a BA in Education and a BS in Mathematics from the University of Wyoming. I completed my masters in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012. Most recently I completed the Teacher Leader Program at UNC to prepare me for the facilitator position.
My goals for this year are to help teachers increase student engagement, improve student achievement, and to build teacher capacity within our school. I will be working with our teachers through observation, modeling, and co-teaching in all classrooms on a regular basis. A large part of instructional coaching is the reflective practices with teachers after the lesson. I love being in the classrooms and seeing all the wonderful teaching practices already in place. As Mr. Beard has said, we are going to work on making a good school great!
